Information collected from visitors

We collect information automatically about a visit to pages of our site, but only that which is automatically sent by the visitor's browser as part of a standard page request. The information obtained in this way includes non-personally identifiable information such as the page visited, the IP address of the Internet Service Provider, browser type, or the type of computer operating system being used. This information is used to help us customize the page for the benefit of the user, for example to suggest the mobile version of a page when a mobile browser is detected.

We do not use cookies for visitors, nor do we use any third party tracking.

Information collected from enquiries and trial rota creators

Where an enquiry is submitted via a form, this information is stored and provides a correspondence trail to help us serve the enquirer in an efficient manner. We may make further notes that do not form part of the reply.

GDPR: Email addresses are added to our mailing list for occasional mail-outs of information about the site, only if the user positively expresses that wish.

Information we collect or store from registered rota users

  • Cookies provide a means of authentication and enable theRota website to act on the preferences set in the cookies.
  • Users must allow cookies on their browser in order to log into their rotas, as this forms part of the security verification that protects a user's data.
  • Information about staff on a rota is never used by us, and is only ever viewed in relation to a technical query. Possibilities exists for clients to make their rota anonymous, even to us.
  • Passwords and email addresses are encrypted in our databases.
  • The rota clients (i.e. our customers) must act as the data controller of their rota and must ensure that they abide by GDPR (2018) regulations.

Use and disclosure of personal information

We process information collected via this website for the purposes of:

  • providing a personalized service to visitors and users during their time on the website.
  • making a secure browsing and data handling environment for our registered users.
  • providing customers and mailing list subscribers with periodic information about therota.com and its related sites.
  • to audit usage of the site.
  • to monitor technical and security issues.

Third parties

  • We do not include any third party content on our site.
  • We do not use Google Analytics or anything else.
  • We never disclose information about our customers or mailing list subscribers to third parties, except if required to do so by law.

SPAM

We maintain a mailing list of those who positively confirmed their wish to be on the mailing list. This is only used to send information directly concerning theRota.com and its primary services. You will never be sent unsolicited "SPAM" (unwanted advertisements), nor will it be given to another company for this purpose. The information will never be disclosed to a third party. Any email we send to you will include a personalized "one click link" for complete removal from our mailing list.
